Is it Time to Rethink Your Outsourced Printing Strategy?

Is it Time to Rethink Your Outsourced Printing Strategy?

Are you tired of throwing out obsolete marketing materials that are sitting on your shelves because you had to make a last-minute change or order in minimum quantities from your local printer? There was a time in our industry when it made perfect sense to outsource color marketing pieces, manuals, and training materials.  The equipment needed to run those applications was very expensive and difficult to operate, and color matching was a challenge.

NBM now offers modular production print technology from Ricoh, Konica Minolta, and Sharp that is affordable and easy to use.  We have print engine options that can operate from 60-135 pages per minute and can handle page volumes from 5,000-200,000 color impressions per month.

What distinguishes production print applications from regular departmental MFPs?  Typically, more than 50% of the output is color and there are a limited number of users.  Printing on a variety of paper weights and paper styles is often required.  Color matching and color profiling are essential and advanced finishing options are required.

The production print engines can handle paper weights up to 360 grams per sq. meter on a variety of coated and textured paper.  Paper sizes up to 13” x 19” can be loaded in the conventional trays.  Banners up to 49” long can be printed using the optional feed tray.

Some devices offer a 5th printing station allowing for clear toner, white toner, invisible red toner, neon yellow or neon pink toner.  Clear toner puts a gloss finish on any print job.  White toner allows for printing on color backgrounds.

The advanced finishing options are not available on departmental MFPs.  Those include spiral binding, GBC binding, SquareBack booklet makers, booklet trimmers and a variety of folding options.

Our manufacturers offer robust print controllers with Pantone matching along with Fiery print controllers that offer color profiling and mail merge technology.  Digital marketplace technology offers web to print applications.
